Repair, reclaim, and reimagine every Sunday morning at the Wende. Samizdat Sundays and Other Subversions is a new hands-on workshop series led by artist Kate Ingold, inviting participants of all ages to gather in a spirit of DIY creativity inspired by our Soviet Hippie Collection and other dissident archives.
Each session explores themes of freedom, identity, and expression through wearable art and textile experimentation. Make patches that speak for you, stitch secret messages into fabric, convert old clothes into something bold, or design a flag for a world that doesn’t yet exist. Whether you’re mending what’s torn or inventing something entirely new, this is a space for radical imagination through craft.
Artist and poet Kate Ingold brings her practice of working with the worn and discarded to the Wende, guiding participants in playful acts of creative resistance. No experience necessary. Materials provided free with RSVP.
