ICE Chills Community Safety Culver City – Culver City Crossroads

As Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweeps create distress though the Southland, KTLA News reported that 48-year-old Arturo Vasquez was taken into custody on Sunday morning, June 8, 2025 while visiting the Culver City Car Wash with his family. His 15-year-old son, Brian Vasquez, was captured in a video screaming as border patrol agents detained his father.

Family members say Arturo Vasquez is undocumented but has no criminal history. He was the family’s sole breadwinner, so the family now has no income.  A GoFundMe has been established to help his wife and sons.

The same day, ICE was seen in a residential area of Culver City, outside of an empty house at Farragut and La Salle. According to witnesses, they seemed not to know that the house was uninhabited. There were four white and green vehicles, sporting the legend ‘BORDER PATROL’ in green on the rear tailgate.

After a few minutes of being filmed by a neighbor, the vehicles departed.

If you wish to report seeing ICE in the area, you can call the Rapid Response Line at 888-624-4752.
