
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas (D-Los Angeles) will host a community celebration in South Los Angeles this Sunday, September 28 to honor the cultural, civic and economic contributions of the Latino community.
The celebration will feature live performances, community resource booths, free food vendors, and presentations recognizing community leaders making a difference in the district. At a time when the Latino community is facing unprecedented challenges, such as ICE raids and the fear they evoke, the event offers a space of safety and belonging.
“I’m proud to host Hispanic Heritage Month in South LA that brings our community together to uplift the culture and contributions of our Latino neighbors,” said Senator Smallwood-Cuevas. “This celebration is an opportunity to honor their stories so we can build a community where everyone feels seen, valued and safe.”
The celebration will be hels on Sunday, September 28, from Noon to 4:00 pm.
