In the early morning hours of Monday, August 4, at approximately 1:02
a.m., Culver City Police Department officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of
Sepulveda Boulevard in response to reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, Officers located a female victim who had sustained a gunshot
wound to her left forearm. The officers quickly rendered aid, applying a tourniquet
to control significant bleeding until Culver City Fire Department personnel arrived.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been approached by a
group of suspects described as several males and one female who attempted to
rob her of her electric bicycle. When the victim resisted, she was shot. The
suspects then fled the scene.
A crime broadcast was immediately issued and Officers conducted thorough
searches of the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The investigation is
