Brackins Jr. Named Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete Of The Week



USC hurdler Johnny Brackins Jr. was named Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for May 7-14; it was announced by the conference office today (May 14).

Senior Johnny Brackins Jr. won both the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles at the APU Franson Last Chance Invite on May 10, just his second meet of the outdoor season. He won the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.53 (+1.7), after running 13.48 (+2.2w) in the prelims on May 9. He now leads the Big Ten and ranks tied for 16th in the country in the 110m hurdles. He did not have a regional qualifying time in the event prior to the Franson Last Chance Invite.

Brackins Jr. won the 400m hurdles later in the day on May 10th with a personal-best time of 50.11, which ranks second in the conference and 14th in the country.

This is Brackins Jr.’s fourth Big Ten Weekly honor this year, three coming during the indoor season.
