Traffic Stop of Armed Carjacking Suspect Leads to Pursuit and Arrest On August 3rd, 2023, an armed carjacking with a handgun occurred in the 5300 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, Culver City. Culver City Police conducted a criminal investigation and identified Aaron Flenoy, a twenty-four-year-old resident of Inglewood, as one of the suspects involved in the carjacking. Flenoy had an extensive criminal history with numerous felony convictions for violent offenses and was on active parole for robbery. The case was presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, and felony charges for Carjacking, two counts of Assault with a Semi-Automatic Firearm, and Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm were filed. An arrest warrant was issued for Flenoy with a bail amount of 5.7 million dollars. On Tuesday, June 3rd, at approximately 10:04 a.m., Culver City Police located Flenoy in the city of Inglewood and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Flenoy fled from officers, and a short pursuit was initiated. The pursuit lasted approximately two minutes, traveling westbound on Centinela Avenue. During the pursuit, Flenoy ran a red light at the intersection of Centinela Avenue and La Brea Avenue in the city of Inglewood, striking another vehicle at approximately 10:06 a.m. In addition to Flenoy, there was an adult female and two children, ages five and nine, inside the suspect’s vehicle. Flenoy and the adult female suffered minor injuries. The two children were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The driver of the vehicle the suspect struck did not sustain any injuries. Suspect Aaron Flenoy will be booked for the warrant in the 2023 armed carjacking incident, felony evading causing injury, and felony child endangerment. Thirty-year-old Timberline Davenport of Inglewood will be booked for multiple outstanding warrants and felony child endangerment. The California Highway Patrol will conduct the traffic collision investigation.
