CCPD Reclaims ‘Baker to Vegas’ Race Title for Division 150 – Culver City Crossroads

The Culver City Police Department claimed victory in their category at the Baker to Vegas relay, reclaiming their title. The daunting race – beginning in Baker, California and ending in Las Vegas, Nevada – covers 120 miles of pavement and 20 stages. This year there were over 10,000 runners competing for their police departments.

“I am extremely proud of our team,” said Team Captain Sergeant John Ogden. “Their unwavering commitment, discipline, and teamwork were clearly demonstrated throughout this incredibly demanding race. We are glad that the title is back with us in Culver City.”

Despite facing sandstorms and challenging terrain, the team finished 1st in the 150 Division as well as 20th overall, setting five new CCPD records.

Police Chief Jason Sims added, “I am incredibly proud of our team’s accomplishment at Baker to Vegas. The team’s resilience and camaraderie exemplify the spirit of the Culver City Police Department. This event highlights our emphasis on maintaining mental and physical wellness within our department, ultimately benefiting the community we serve.”
