How do we foster connection in an age of divisions? What cultural forces shape the ways we think, act, and imagine the future? Critical Currents is a new podcast co-produced by the Wende Museum, Thomas Mann House, and dublab exploring the movements and ideas driving democratic life and collective action today.
Hosted by Stella Horns, Dani Taylor, and Ziyan Xie, the series opens space for meaningful conversation across difference. The first season, Bridging the Gap, invites poets, historians, and cultural critics to reflect on tension, transformation, and shared experience. Guests will include LA Poet Laureate Lynne Thompson, author Rosecrans Baldwin, and historian Lois Rosson.
In the debut episode, Lynne Thompson speaks with Stella and Dani about poetry’s role in bridging political and personal divides. She reflects on the evolution of her voice, the influence of her heritage, and the challenges of creating art in a time of social and political unrest.
