A new Sycamore tree found a home at Syd Kronenthal Park on Friday, July 17, 2026. Culver City Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department staff gathered for a commemorative native tree planting in honor of Nelson Mandela International Day.
The dedication was part of the 2026 Global Tree Planting and Tree Advocacy Campaign, joining communities around the world in a shared commitment to peace, resilience, environmental stewardship, and climate action. This year’s theme, “Planting Hope, Growing Resilience: 67 Minutes for People, Nature and Climate Action,” reflects Mandela’s enduring call to service and collective responsibility.
