Rhode Island fugitive convicted of rape captured after decades as L.A. biotech executive

Former doctor ran a biotech firm on Olympic Blvd. before capture off the East Coast.

Federal authorities tracked down a fugitive physician who lived under an assumed identity as a West Los Angeles biotech executive for 20 years while evading a decades-old rape conviction, as reported by NBC Los Angeles.

Ronald Fischer, 56, was arrested last week aboard his 56-foot sailboat off the coast of New Jersey by the U.S. Coast Guard and federal law enforcement, as reported by NBC New York. Fischer fled Rhode Island in 2005 midway through his trial for allegedly raping a woman on his yacht, “Lion King”. A jury convicted him in absentia of first-degree sexual assault.

Following a two-day search fueled by fresh leads, the U.S. Marshals Service and FBI located Fischer on a vessel named “The Silver Lining,” which was registered under his alias, “Richard Graydon”.

Law enforcement sources confirmed that under the Graydon pseudonym, Fischer resided in Los Angeles and served as an executive at Immix Biopharma, Inc. on Olympic Boulevard.

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Immix Biopharma noted that Graydon’s employment was terminated on Friday for reasons unrelated to his work at the firm.
