Wildcats suffer 44-20 loss at Glendale

West Los Angeles College outgained Glendale Community College in nearly every statistical category except the one that matters most. The Wildcats had a tough time containing the Vaqueros and fell by a final score of 44-20.

West LA edged Glendale in total yards (379-286), passing yards (228-178), rushing yards (151-108), total offensive plays (72-47), first downs (20-18), and time of possession (40:58-19:02).

But Glendale was able to take advantage of a pair of West LA turnovers and struck fast to score on offense.

The Wildcats trailed 17-6 at the 3:03 mark in the second and was down 33-6 late in the third quarter.

Jackson Dadich tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Gino O’Neal to get the Wildcats on the board. West LA closed out the game with a pair of late TDs passed from Dadich. He connected with Makyi Douglas for a 5-yard touchdown and tossed a 34-yarder to Jason Robinson as time expired.

Dadich completed 17 of 30 passes for 228 yards and 3 TDs. Bryant Collins led West LA on the ground with 19 carries for 66 yards.

On defense, Jason Robinson led the Wildcats with 7 tackles. Quran Turner and Conan Hinckley were credited with sacks.

West LA fell to 2-3 overall. The Wildcats have a bye next week and are back in action on Oct. 19 when they host Chaffey College in their American Metro League opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
