RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve an amendment to an existing Professional Services Agreement with Hayer Consultants, Inc. (HCI), not to exceed $55,000 for on-call building inspection services through June 30, 2016.
BACKGROUND
In August 2015, the City Council approved an agreement with HCI for Building Safety Division construction, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical services in an amount not-to-exceed $100,000. In addition, a separate agreement with Hayer for as-needed plan check services was approved by the City Council in an amount not-to-exceed $55,000.
DISCUSSION
Over the last several months the Building Safety Division has continued to receive a high volume of inspection requests. Due to the level of work, additional inspection services are required to accommodate the increased development activity. Additional funds are needed in order to continue inspections through the end of the 15/16 Fiscal Year. Funds are available in Contract #31600112, with HCI for on-call plan check services in the amount of $55,000. Staff is requesting these funds be transferred to Contract #31600106, with HCI for as-needed building inspector services.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
There are sufficient funds available in the City Council adopted budget for Fiscal Year 2015/2016 in the Building Safety Division Other Contractual Services account (10150150.619800) to cover this increase.

RECOMMENDED MOTIONS
That the City Council:
1. Approve an amendment to the existing Professional Services Agreement with Hayer Consultants, Inc., in an amount not-to-exceed $55,000 from Contract #31600112 to Contract #31600106 through June 30, 2016; and
2. Authorize the City Attorney to review/prepare the necessary documents; and
3. Authorize the City Manager to execute such documents on behalf of the City.
